Amon Mwareka : ウィキペディア英語版 | Amon Mwareka
Amon Mwareka (1950 – March 1992) was a Zimbabwean sculptor. Born in Nyanga, Mwareka was educated at a mission, and began modeling clay and carving wood as a hobby early in life. In 1969 he was working as a builder's assistant in Vukutu when he met Frank McEwen, who inspired him to try working with stone. He soon became a member of the Workshop School and showed in many of its exhibitions around that time, showing for the first time in 1971 at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. In 1978 he moved to Milton Park, in Harare; he had his first solo exhibition in 1985. Mwareka's sculptures were generally semi-abstract, and were fairly small. He died in 1992 at the age of 41. ==References==
